Amy Henderson, Troupe Director
Born in Albuquerque, NM and raised in Colorado Springs, CO, Amy Henderson has been dancer for over two decades. She has been a professional dance instructor for over 13 years. She recently completed her Fat Chance Belly Dance General Skills Certification and has taken workshops from Carolena Nericcio, Mira Betz, Mardi Love, Zoe Jakes, Asharah, Petite Jamilla and Zafirah Dance Co. Her belly dance troupe, the Sweet Magnolia Gypsies, reglarly performs at haflas and community events in the Lower Alabama and Gulf area.
Amy taught Lindy Hop swing dance in Colorado Springs, Denver and Florida, and is a Salsa and social ballroom dance instructor, as well. Amy's belly dance style incorporates elements of Latin, Flamenco, ballroom, Eastern European, Bollywood, Classical, Modern, Lindy Hop Swing, Jazz, African, Polynesian, Middle Eastern, and Hip-Hop.
She continues to pursue her dance education and teach dance in the Lower Alabama area. She is available to perform or teach for private parties, business functions and community cultural events.
